Yes, it’s here again, and we couldn’t be more excited! While many search out ‘bars near me’ to celebrate National Margarita Day, others are still a bit weary of venturing out. Although we miss all of your faces here at La Santa, we promise, we understand.

Whether you’re planning on stopping in for one of the best margaritas in town, or spending the evening at home with a few friends and family, skipping this day is never an option. So, for those of you playing it safe, here are a few of our favorite margaritas to make at home!

There something to be said about the classics.

With hundreds of classic margarita recipes available, how does one choose? Well, we’re here to help. Gather the following ingredients, and then we’ll begin:

  • 2 ounces of a tequila – your choice
  • 1 ounce of Cointreau, Triple sec, or Grand Marnier
  • 3 ounces of freshly squeezed lime juice

Gently shake all of the ingredients together and pour over ice. Remember to salt your rim before pouring! Garnish with a lime slice, and you’re good to go!

If you’re missing the fresh lime, many stores have different “limeades” available, which also serve as a good mixer option.

Frozen and fruity for those in need of a little ‘vacation.’

What’s better than a frozen margarita to have you envisioning that tropical destination we are all wishing for? Nothing. That’s why you need to gather the following and toss the ingredients into your blender asap:

  • 6 ounces of a tequila of your choice
  • 2 ounces of Cointreau, Triple sec, or Grand Marnier
  • 4 ounces of frozen limeade concentrate
  • 8 ounces of frozen, or fresh, sliced fruit. Strawberries, watermelon, and mango make the perfect fruit blend

Fill your blender with ice, blend for around 30 seconds, and serve in a sugar-rimmed margarita glass!

And for those who require a little spice in life.

If you’re like many of us, you’re missing that spice of life. With the help of this traditional margarita recipe, you can have all the spice you need!

  • 4 ounces of tequila
  • 2 ounces of Cointreau, Triple sec, or Grand Marnier
  • 2 freshly squeezed limes
  • 1 tablespoon of agave
  • ½ of a jalapeño pepper, seeded and diced. If you’re feeling brave, you can add more pepper or leave in the seeds.

Start by muddling your jalapenos with the freshly squeezed lime juice.  Once you get the desired texture, mix in the remaining ingredients, and rim with toasted coconut. Enjoy!
